What is Mersal?
Mersal
(or مرسـال in Arabic) is a program that lets you know whether or not your friends have received and viewed the email messages you sent to them. If they have received and viewed the messages, you will know exactly when they did.

What is the benefit of Mersal?
If you email your friend and not get a reply for a while, you might wonder:

  • Has not he read the message yet?
  • Did he read the message, but has not replied yet?
  • How long has it been since he read the message, without replying?

Mersal puts this wondering to rest and gives you the answers.

How is Mersal different than the read receipts you already get in Outlook Express?
Unlike traditional read receipts, Mersal does not hassle your recipient with pop-up boxes — it's completely automatic.  More importantly, using Mersal you can send view-receipt messages to practically any email address, including Hotmail and Yahoo addresses.

How does the Mersal-system work?
Once your friend opens the message that you sent to him/her using Mersal, our server facilities will know that. At once, the server facilities will send you a notification email. This notification will inform you of (among other things) the exact time when your friend opened your message.

Example:
Assume that your email address is ana@yaboo.com, and that your friend's address is friend@coldmail.com. Let us say that on Tuesday Feb. 10, at 8:30pm you used Mersal to send a message to your friend with the subject "Can we meet on Thursday?". Further, assume that your friend read the message on Wednesday at 11am. At this moment, a notification message will be automatically sent to your email address, including:

Mersal receipt:
Subject: Can we meet on Thursday?
